Alan Ebnother - Sem Título

Segundo o pintor americano Alan Ebnother (1952 - ) “não há nada na pintura além da tinta”. Embora polêmica (e simplista) a frase define bem a abordagem da Escola Concretista, iniciada nos anos 1930. Para os concretistas, o abstracionismo deve ser livre de qualquer associação simbólica com a realidade, pois as linhas e cores já são, em si, concretas. Assim, o Concretismo busca acabar com a distinção entre forma e conteúdo, criando uma nova linguagem. Os óleos de Ebnother, caracterizados pelo impasto, espelham a tônica concretista. A densa pigmentação traz movimento à pintura de uma forma própria, dando vida à obra – uma vida perceptível, concreta. A pintura aqui exposta Sem Título é um bom exemplo da arte de Ebnother: densa, intensa, concreta.

According to the American painter Alan Ebnother (1952 -) "there is nothing to paint, except paint itself." Although controversial the phrase defines well the Concretist School approach, initiated in the 1930s. For concretists, the abstract should be free of any symbolical association with reality, because the lines and colors are already concrete. So Concretism seeks to end the distinction between form and content, creating a new language. Ebnother oils, characterized by impasto, reflect the tone of the Concrete movement. The dense pigmentation brings movement to the painting in a special way, giving life to the work - a perceptibly concrete life. The painting posted here (Untitled) is a good example of Ebnother’s art: dense, intense, concrete.
